Stephanie Fitzgerald, RN, BSN, has been a nurse for six years, and during that time, she has worked in various departments, including labor and delivery, nursery, postpartum, and pediatric units. Stephanie has always been drawn to the fast-paced nature of emergency rooms, and she has also worked at a mental health hospital for veterans and active-duty personnel.

Stephanie's passion for nursing developed early in life. Her mother is also a nurse, and Stephanie knew she wanted to pursue a career in healthcare from a young age. Stephanie remembers taking care of injured classmates on the playground and helping injured individuals in emergency situations. She says that during those times, time seemed to slow down, and she was able to focus on the task at hand without panicking.

The freedom to choose when and where she works is Stephanie's favorite part of her career. With Nursa, she has the flexibility to choose her assignments and work hours. Stephanie enjoys the freedom to work hard without feeling obligated to do anything she doesn't want to do. She has also been able to pay off her bills, which is a significant benefit for her.

Stephanie's greatest challenge in healthcare has been finding a department that suits her interests and offers competitive compensation. Stephanie enjoys learning and advancing in her career, but she feels that working for a hospital limits her ability to compete with herself. Stephanie is now happy to be working with Nursa, where she feels like she's truly in the nursing field.

Stephanie's nursing school experience was excruciating, but she remained grateful to be there. She encourages anyone interested in pursuing a career in healthcare not to doubt themselves, to keep showing up, and to support each other. Healthcare is a team effort, and everyone must work together to achieve the best outcomes for patients.

Stephanie's work with Nursa has also led her to think about how to optimize staffing at healthcare facilities. She believes that utilizing strong clinicians to train others and filtering out those who are only interested in money can save money for hospitals and improve patient care.

In conclusion, Stephanie is a dedicated and compassionate nurse who has found her calling in the nursing field. Her experience working in various departments has given her a well-rounded perspective, and her passion for helping others is evident in everything she does. Stephanie's words of encouragement and insights into nursing and healthcare are valuable for anyone interested in pursuing a career in this field.
