Does the facility you work at provide wipes? Washcloths are so hard on the skin especially coccyx wounds.  Using pre-moistened, gentle wipes can help prevent further irritation and improve patient comfort. Some facilities stock them, while others stick to traditional washcloths. What’s your experience—does your workplace provide skin-friendly options for delicate care?

At my old staff job, they didn't, and it was terrible - washcloths destroy coccyx wounds! I am glad I started doing PRN and picking up jobs at other facilities to find a better fit. The last place also didn't use coccyx bandages to keep it covered!!

It's so important for facilities to focus on the little details! They make all the difference in patient care. In this case, just talking to a nurse for a few minutes can improve the quality of care!

Washcloths may be more eco-friendly, but wipes are more patient and nurse friendly!
