Jenna Nurse
Hey everyone, how do you manage your workload and ensure you get breaks? Do you have a schedule that your managers set? Or do you ask for them?
1 Miranda Belcher
Honestly, I hit the ground running, and I chart as I go! The major mistake I have seen many nurses make is to save their charting until the end of the shift, and they end up staying over, or charting during their lunch breaks. Also, I make it known I am taking a lunch and talk about it with my colleagues at the beginning of the shift and find out what time they are going so we can cover patients for each other. Another thing is that I leave the unit!! It makes a huge difference as people can't ask you for things and it refreshes you to come back and finish the shift.
