What does practical nursing involve?

Karin Zonneveld

Question

Practical nursing involves providing basic nursing care in any clinical or healthcare setting. Practical nurses are involved in caring for patients while supervised by RNs (registered nurses) and physicians. They are active advocates for patients' needs.

Practical nurses need to communicate effectively with patients and their families and interact with the healthcare team to achieve the best patient outcomes.

It is also essential to continue their education and training so as to achieve the highest professionalism possible while in the nursing profession.
