Does working as a nurse make you less emotional about family members being ill or dying?
There is a nurse in my family, and he just completely freezes when his kids are ill; one of the kids got into an accident, and he couldn't react (he is an ER nurse, so he sees a lot of accidents all of the time). He told us he just couldn't make sense of the situation when it was his kid. Thankfully, the other kids called their mom, and they got into an ambulance on time.
How is it for you? Do you get more emotional with family or less emotional?

You brought up a really interesting point, Karin! I think we are all more emotionally affected by loved ones getting sick or injured, which is why healthcare providers typically don’t treat their own
