Karin Zonneveld
Let's celebrate sobriety and victories. This month, we celebrate National Recovery Month, a month to promote awareness of substance abuse disorders. In particular, we celebrate those who have recovered or are recovering, one day at a time, from addiction. We also seek to reduce the stigma surrounding substance abuse. Recovery is possible for everyone, and celebrating every moment of our lives with the right support can help us recover. Do you know anyone who is in this battle? How about sharing some stories of courage and success?

How about sharing some stories of courage and success? I love this so much! I wish my mother was able to recover from her drug addiction. Unfortunately, she died just two weeks after leaving rehab. I am so proud of all my friends and family back in Ohio who were able to get clean and stay clean. Our state has been impacted by the opioid crisis incredibly hard.

Our state has been impacted by the opioid crisis incredibly hard. It's like a big, silent war, isn't it? Some people are survivors, and some just fall, but all are heroes! Being in rehab and trying to recover: that shows courage! We need to keep fighting and living positively so this can have a bigger impact on the ones surrounding us!
