What is a Registered Nurse (RN)?

A registered nurse, also known as an RN, is a licensed healthcare professional who has completed a nursing program (ADN or BSN) and passed a national licensure examination (NCLEX-RN). RNs hold a license that is valid in their state.

RNs are trained to provide patient care, educate patients and their families about health conditions, and administer medications and treatments prescribed by doctors. They play a crucial role in the healthcare system by collaborating with other healthcare professionals to promote and maintain the health and well-being of patients.

RNs can work in a variety of settings, such as hospitals, clinics, schools, and community health centers, and their dedication and compassion make them an integral part of the healthcare team.

Registered nurses are compassionate, resilient, natural leaders, and strong. Learn more about this profession here.
