Human Rights Day is coming up on December 10th! Nurses work every day to preserve human dignity and advocate for patients' rights. We can all recognize this on Human Rights Day, maybe with a message to nurses we know, or a poster displayed in the hospital. How else can we show our appreciation for the deep connection between nursing and human rights?

Although the term "Occupational Therapist" seems to point to therapy that helps performance in your occupation or work, it includes a wider range of assistance in achieving a higher degree of independence in all sorts of situations and activities. Patients may need occupational therapy after surgery or an injury, or due to chronic pain or conditions such as arthritis, or age related issues. OTs also help children with developmental delays. Occupational therapists can improve the movements and skills needed to dress, bathe, participate in sports, socialize, or manage work-related equipment. Occupational therapy is closely linked to physical therapy, but OTs assist with both physical and mental challenges, using therapy techniques. Have you had any experience with OT?

I think it's pretty common for nursing school students to work CNA jobs on the side, but that probably can only earn enough to cover living expenses (maybe?) without making a dent in tuition, books, supplies, etc. How did you pay 💰💰💰 for nursing school? Grants and loans? Are scholarships common?

Of course, you upload your credentials and experience, but beyond these basics, showcase your nursing experience relevant to the shift you are applying for when creating your profile. And once you get your first shifts, the facilities will notice your dedication and hard work, and Nursa offers them the option of placing certain nurses on a priority list to be automatically selected if they qualify for the job posted. What qualities or skills do you think the facilities appreciate the most?

PRN nursing offers several advantages that help you along in your career. It gives you more flexibility to explore different facilities and settings, to see whether you prefer working in long-term care such as nursing homes, acute care (hospitals or clinics), or perhaps home-health services. This flexibility also allows you to accept only the shifts that fit well into your life, avoiding burnout, and fostering a healthy work-life balance. PRN nursing also offers competitive pay, which, of course, we all need and enjoy. It also gives you the opportunity to get practical experience in diverse areas, making you more adaptable professionally. Have you experienced any of these advantages in PRN work?

Who gives do not resuscitate (DNR) orders?
Crystal Baker Shoaie posted a question in Community Questions
A DNR order is a legal document stating that a patient does not want CPR in the event of cardiac or respiratory arrest. It does not indicate a refusal of other medical treatment, and does not necessarily reflect a desire to end life. It is an option that the physician may bring up with the patient, and nurses respect the patient's choice as a well-informed decision. However, in some cases, the physician may make emergency DNR decisions when dealing with a clearly poor prognosis. Have you ever been consulted on a DNR decision? -
