Hot Topic - What are the best shoes for nursing shifts?
We all know that nursing shifts are long and tiring. Between running around answering call lights or grabbing meds for patients, we know you do it all. Having good shoes makes all the difference in your shift and we want to know your take on the best nursing shoes out there! Here are some different brands I have used on my shifts that I love! Hokas - It's like walking on clouds! Their shoes provide great arch support and cushion for your feet, giving your knees a break. They are also built to have a lot of milage before any kind of wear and tear, making them the most endurable shoe. (By far my favorite) Crocs - Not only are they a nursing fashion staple …

Is anyone else having the same issue when requesting shift?
Last week nursa made the search for shifts by state a bit more difficult with their new update and since then I requested a few shifts and did not get approved nor denied for like 4 days, so i just canceled the requests š also noticed that the requested shifts and the filled shits still appear on the search list, and when I requested a shift today got a message saying it was filled somewhere else just to get a message 5min later saying that it was available again š. is anyone else experiencing the same issue? Any input will be highly appreciated:)

Thoughts on the noncompete ban for healthcare workers?
It's about time that the noncompete ban legislation came out. It only seems right that nurses and healthcare workers should have the ability to work where they choose to and that there should not be "ownership" over their license. I for one am glad to see the ban on noncompetes. What are your thoughts?

Not worth the time
I've been on Nursa for about a month now and I'm going to cancel my account. There are too many options in my area that are easy and professional. My issues with this app: filters are never saved, takes 12+ hours to get a response about whether I'm booked for a shift or just never getting a response, no push notifications, shifts listed in random order when you open the app, no name badges, the "total" shift payment listed does not subtract a 30min unpaid lunch break. It doesn't need to be this complicated to find work, no matter how competitive the wages are. App developers, I recommend looking at apps like Clipboard and Teambridge. I'm sure there are other …

Canceled by the Facility
Why am I only getting $75 dollars for a shift canceled by the facility? Historically the cancellation fee is always reimbursed to the contractor at a minimum of a four hour pay out. In what world would $75 compensate for someone losing an entire workday? You are not able to find something else because the app sees you as being booked already so therefore shifts for that day are few and far between if you could even see them at all. And once you have driven an hour to facility or whatever the situation may be it just does not make sense you have already planned for that facility why is $75 enough? Who made that decision? This is a scandalous and precarious situation and w…

DIFFICULTIES
I am new to Nursa but am having hell getting selected for shifts. There is plenty of work at a facility near me bur I request 3 shifts in a row for about a month or more and am overlooked every time. So, I thought I would do the mock onboarding because maybe I was doing something wrong and I love to learn and you get paid!!! WHAT????? I requested the moch onboarding over a month ago and it's to.orrow but no one has emailed me and under schedule it just says I requested the shift.. i cannot seem to speak to a human who works for Nursa and emailed them with ho response. I'm frustrated because I really need the work but can't seem to talk to anyone about issues. So, now, I d…

Hourly seems to be LOWERED across the board
Iāve been w Nursa over 2 years. I loved the competitive hourly pay I used to tell other nurses about it. Now, itās disheartening to see that Nursa has now incorporated almost same hourly pay across the board for diff licensing. There are no more bonuses now and SOS texts donāt offer incentives like they use to. What happened? I may have to go back to a regular 8-12 hour nursing job. š

SOS shifts
So if āSaraā picks up a shift on Thursday that is for the coming Saturday morning, and I get a SOS text for that same shift Friday night. You gone tell me Iām going to be making the same as āSARAā? This was my first shift picking up on Nursa in over a year! Last time I checked last min shifts got paid more or a bonus! They then turned around and sent a SOS for Sunday morning for a shift that had already started and the pay was THE SAME! š how is Nursa allowing this! I make more money at my regular facility Iām hired at!

Payout
Iām extremely frustratedā¦ In the app it offers, once you work 3 shifts you qualify for instant pay. What they donāt mention is itās not vastly available in most states. Itās gravely irritating and frustrating that it offers pay is done on Mon and Wed then takes 2-3 days for it to appear in your acct. What I have learned is, as the medical staffer, we are expected to show up promptly and complete the shift to the facility expectations. However, they can take there time to complete the shift report. I worked a shift, itās now been a week ago and it just now has been processed but I still have to wait 3 days for it to hit my acct. When most of these shifts are anywhere from …

Who picks the photos for facilities?
I saw a facility I haven't seen very often or they are relatively new. Their facility photo is a photo of the Carnegie Village Retirement Village in Belton, Missouri. Carnegie Nursing Home is a far cry from that 5 star facility. If anything that made me laugh, but it is a bit deceiving.

Cancelled Shifts
I can on here to say that after working for Nursa for a year things have gone downhill with them. I get āacceptedā for a NOC shift and donāt look at other options because Iāve been āaccepted ā yet, hours before my shift I am cancelled! This is happening 100% of the time! These facilities are making me a back up plan obviously and Nursa needs to step up and put an end to this game! After being cancelled so many times from a facility I decided to cancel my shifts with them and then Nursa dings me for it and put a hold on my account. This isnāt right. Iāll be looking at other companies where the facility is held accountable and not hitting me with being āirresponsible.ā
