    Nursa requires every clinician who picks up shifts using the app to have a background check. We do not accept previously-ran background checks for any reason, including from a previous employer, so you are not able to upload your own background check.

     

    Every clinician will have a background check done at the federal/national/state/county level. Some states may also require an additional state-level registry or other background check.

     

    Nursa requests all background checks and automatically uploads results for you when they are available. Nursa also pays for all background checks (excluding any finger print requirements), so you are not responsible for the cost!

     

    Because Nursa pays for background checks, we want to ensure that all of our clinicians are committed to working shifts. For this reason, we do not initiate the background-check process until you request your first shift.

    **Nursa pays for all background checks EXCEPT any finger print requirements**
     

    ***Please ensure that you have uploaded your Drivers License or State ID to the app as well as completed your Wallet before requesting your first shift. That information is necessary for the background check.***

    Federal/National Background Checks

    Nursa uses First Advantage (FA) to process federal/national/state/county background checks. Nursa runs and pays for this background check for all clinicians using the app.

     

    You will be contacted by FA by email to provide them with information for your background check. If you haven’t seen anything from FA, please check your junk folder. And keep in mind that FA may reach out to you more than once for information, such as if additional forms must be completed.

     

    If you have any issue (such as your email link has expired) or question with this process, you will need to contact FA for further assistance.

    After completing and submitting FA information, the process takes 5-7 business days to complete. Nursa will upload it to your Nursa profile once completed. 

     

    Please note that if it has not been at least 5 days since you requested your first shift to begin the background check, please give us a little more time before contacting support about it. We're on it!

    State Background Checks

    Some states may have additional background checks. These are not the same as the First Advantage background check, and Nursa may reach out to you separately to complete a state background check. Please make sure you continually check your email and junk mail for notifications.  


    Nursa also pays for state background checks. The process for state background checks also takes 5-7 business days to complete.

     

    Please note that if it has not been at least 5 days since you requested your first shift to begin the background check, please give us a little more time before contacting support about it. We're on it!
