I love the social interaction and the chance to listen to people who, a lot of time, don't have anyone else listening to them. It always astonishes me as a nurse when patients tell me I am the only one who comes in and explains everything and talks to them as if they are humans. It's easy to get carried away with our jobs, and it's important to remember that there is a human in the bed and how to treat them.
