A couple suggestions I’ve heard often are to find a great nurse to be your mentor and to ask a lot of questions.

I love this. Wise and kind nurse mentors are the greatest and most priceless asset to becoming a great nurse. I still recall little things my CNA instructor, who would be my first nurse mentor in my eyes, did, such as placing a warm washcloth on the patient's chest during a shower to make them feel more comfortable and less exposed that I carried with me throughout my career.
