How long did it take you to finish nursing school?

Jeremy Booher

Question

Hello everyone,
I have been considering a career change and nursing has always intrigued me. I was wondering if any of you could share your experience with me and tell me how long it took you to finish nursing school? I am not currently a nurse, so I am curious to know the timeline and requirements for becoming a qualified nurse. Any insights and tips would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

2.5 years - I chose an ADN program that consisted of 5 semesters - one peds/OB rotation that lasted during the summer, so it was 2.5 years from start to finish as I broke up Nursing 102 to finish my general courses so that I could only focus on the nursing classes for the final semesters and I am so glad I did because the Nursing 102 class started with 36 students and only 14 passed - which btw - is terrible that they made it so difficult. I had my RN at 21 years old.
