Although the term "Occupational Therapist" seems to point to therapy that helps performance in your occupation or work, it includes a wider range of assistance in achieving a higher degree of independence in all sorts of situations and activities. Patients may need occupational therapy after surgery or an injury, or due to chronic pain or conditions such as arthritis, or age related issues. OTs also help children with developmental delays. Occupational therapists can improve the movements and skills needed to dress, bathe, participate in sports, socialize, or manage work-related equipment. Occupational therapy is closely linked to physical therapy, but OTs assist with both physical and mental challenges, using therapy techniques. Have you had any experience with OT?

Who gives do not resuscitate (DNR) orders?

A DNR order is a legal document stating that a patient does not want CPR in the event of cardiac or respiratory arrest. It does not indicate a refusal of other medical treatment, and does not necessarily reflect a desire to end life. It is an option that the physician may bring up with the patient, and nurses respect the patient's choice as a well-informed decision. However, in some cases, the physician may make emergency DNR decisions when dealing with a clearly poor prognosis. Have you ever been consulted on a DNR decision? -
