  1. Wouldn't it be great if it would be transparent and visible for every state and location to see nurses pay per license? Imagine a webpage or website where that would be visible to inform the nursing community. What do you think? Nurses would be able to submit their pay too contribute to this kind of data overview.
  2. What would you say is the best state to work as a nurse salary-wise?
  3. CRNAs are #1 on Nursa's list of highest-paying nursing specialties, earning upwards of 200,000 💰💰💰a year! Wonder what state pays CRNAs the most?
  4. Nursa's top ten list for highest-paying states for LPNs shows sunny California 😎at the top of the list--not too surprising I don't think. I can't help but notice that Midest states are absent from the list, but maybe that's at least in part because cost of living in the Midwest is lower as well? Thoughts? (The list pulls data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, does it match up with your experiences?)
  5. Laila researched this topic and wrote a top ten list based on wage data from the United States Bureau of Labor Statistics. Washington DC actually shows as higher 💸 💸 than California which surprised me, and Colorado is the only midwest state on the list. I'm wondering about your personal experiences and how it matches up (or doesn't) to the data?
  6. Wondering what states pay RNs the most? Laila researched the topic and did a top ten list for you all. California and Hawaii are no surprise, but I think cost of living would counter a lot of that at the end of the day, so maybe Oregon or Massachussetts would be the best overall? What do you think?
  7. I was at a Concert Friday night at around 10:30 I was scheduled for a shift that started in 2hrs! Mind you I had requested this shift Friday morning. I worked the shift a full 8hrs the facility reported I worked 2hrs so Nursa said I owed money back. The next shift I worked I was only paid $5!!!! They took my money because the facility made a mistake! Nursa notified me since it is a holiday I will not have the issue fixed until Tuesday!!!! So today I go work for this facility AGAIN! Why? Because Nursa ALLOWED them to schedule me a shift at 3:30am that began at 4pm. I was scheduled a shift while sleeping for a shift I had that started at 6am at a different facility. So I had to work 6am to 12pm today! That wasn’t the kicker! This same facility was able to schedule me for 12am to 8am while I was there already working! And they scheduled me 2hrs before the shift started AGAIN!!!! Last time I checked that should have been a SOS shift and paid more for last minute! How is Nursa allowing these facilities to treat us as ON CALL STAFF! You can’t even go back and remove a request on some of the shifts after to request because they DISAPPEAR! You don’t see them again until your scheduled. And also how is Nursa allowing us to be scheduled for 24hrs shifts! If I worked 6am to 12am how can I also be scheduled 12am to 8am? And what happened to HOLIDAY PAY? I worked a lot of shifts this holiday weekend and basically was paid pennies!
  8. I was requested via text from a facility to work 6A-6p on the 16th. it was nearly a $500/shift, but because I cancelled the prior week I wasn’t able to accept the shift via Nursa app. Their staffer had stated that they would submit my time/rate and bonus of $50. I pick up quite a bit of shifts at this facility and wonder if any other clinicians have experienced this situation.

    Death and taxes

So as nurses, death is due to be a part of our lives. It would be good to be able to talk about death and how it affects us. There's nobody else that can relate to us than us... Another important topic is taxes. It's important for people, especially New nurses to registry, to plan and be prepared for having to pay them. It can be an overwhelming shock to "do" your taxes and find out that you owe thousands of dollars you probably don't have, due to being independent contractors. My tax accountant recommended paying them quarterly by buying vouchers from the Treasury dept...how does everyone else deal with it?
  10. Why are the shift rates this low? Accepting low rates sets the standards for the pay we deserve. These assignments are tough and we are often just thrown into the shift.
  11. What does it look like at the end of the year working as a Independent contractor?
  12. Heyoo, Have ya'll taken this survey yet? I just took it and am curious to see the results! https://community.nursa.com/surveys/
