JessicaJoRN7
Hello Oregon RNs! I'm an RN with experience in Acute Care only and looking to get started working in ALF/SNFs. Can anyone recommend a good facility to pick up a shift and get some quick form of orientation (or at least decent instructions) as to what are the expectations of me as an RN in these facilities. I'm mostly concerned about the charting because I imagine they use different platforms than EPIC? If anyone has any useful info please feel free to share ❤️ Thanks so much! Krishna Floisand
Great question @JessicaJoRN7! Any insight from a few of our OR group? @Jennifer Stone @Marilyn @Meg Kelsey?
Chance M
Hi Jessica, This is a great question. While you are correct that many of our SNFs and ALFs do not use EPIC, they do use specific systems to capture charting and other critical information. The most common system our facilities use across the region is Point Point Click Care (PCC) https://pointclickcare.com/industry-solutions/senior-living/. Anyone else feel free to chime in.
Heather Lucas, DHS
Another platform used in larger communities and CCRC communities such as ours, Terwilliger Plaza, is Matrixcare. It's similar to PCC. Stand alone ALFs generally are old school and don't use an EHR.
