Louisiana LPN requesting in other compact states

I’m a Louisiana resident and want to pick up in other states over the summer. 
I’m a little anxious about making a move and not sure which move to make first. I’d hate to pay for a full month of lodging and drive to another state, and then not be selected to work the shifts. 
Do facilities have bias when considering approving a shift? 
Has anyone had this same dilemma and have advice to navigate this? 
I am contracted with a local agency and I am having difficulties getting shifts. I just don’t want the same problem being away from home.

This is a great question @Blair Scioneaux! PRN shifts are often short notice. Locations where Nursa is newer creates a better opportunity and some states have "block scheduling" where they will book you for multiple days at a time and its more consistent. Are there specific states you are looking at?

I hope you find a block of shifts so you can be in one single place! You can also look for different options for staying/lodging so you don't cancel reservations or anything like that.
