    My 100th POST

I cant believe it! At first, I didnt think I had the time to post or have anything to post about, but apparently, I do.
  2. When going into facilities act as if you are an actual employee not just passing thru. Assess your patients take care of there needs not put them off. We maybe be there for the hours but there are actual people there who will actually be depending on our care for them. Be attentive and no patient needs you more the the one in front of you. Then move on too the next. Remember the opportunity is a two way street the facility needs us and we need the hrs. Charting is how the make their money and able to call staff in. So chart your skill charting creating pay and more hours for Agency to work
  3. What is Getting Started Fridays? Every Friday we will highlight a Nursa feature and it will include a description, relevant support pages, videos, blogs, and related community content. The goal of this weekly series is to help users find resources related to the topic. Important note: for urgent questions please contact our Support Team. Getting Started Fridays | June 23, 2023 Background checks are a tool that Facilities use and look for when accepting shift requests. They are triggered with the first shift request. There is a national and depending on your area, there could be a state request triggered as well. Keep an eye out for an email regarding how to proceed. Outside or previously done background checks won't be accepted. Nursa covers the costs of these checks and will upload them to your profile. Support Articles:
  4. I was wondering why there are no CNA positions available in Flagstaff or Prescott if there are how do I find them
  5. Who is This Intruder Called Schizophrenia? Schizophrenia: a word that carries mystery, confusion, and misconceptions. It is an intruder that affects the mind, altering perception and reality. But who is this intruder called schizophrenia? Let's delve into the depths of this complex mental disorder that affects millions of lives worldwide. Unveiling the Enigma: Schizophrenia is not a split personality or a mere figment of imagination. It is a chronic brain disorder that disrupts the way a person thinks, feels, and behaves. This condition can manifest in various ways, making it a perplexing and challenging disorder to understand. The Intruder's Impact: Schizophrenia can strike anyone, regardless of age, gender, or background. It often emerges in early adulthood, affecting individuals during their prime years. Its symptoms can be divided into positive and negative categories. Positive symptoms include hallucinations, delusions, and disorganized speech, while negative symptoms involve social withdrawal, reduced emotional expression, and diminished motivation. Understanding the Intruder's Origins: The exact cause of schizophrenia remains unknown, but researchers believe it stems from a combination of genetic, environmental, and neurochemical factors. Studies have shown that imbalances in neurotransmitters, such as dopamine and glutamate, play a role in the disorder's development. Shattering the Stigma: Sadly, stigma and misconceptions surrounding schizophrenia persist. It is crucial to debunk myths and promote understanding. People living with schizophrenia deserve empathy, support, and access to proper treatment. With appropriate interventions, including medication, therapy, and community support, individuals with schizophrenia can lead fulfilling lives. Empowering Through Education: Education is key to combatting the intruder. By spreading awareness about schizophrenia, we can foster compassion, reduce discrimination, and encourage early intervention. The more we understand this complex disorder, the better equipped we are to provide the necessary support and care for those affected. Embracing Hope: While schizophrenia presents significant challenges, it is essential to remember that recovery and managing symptoms are possible. With advancements in medical research and ongoing support, individuals with schizophrenia can lead meaningful lives, pursue their dreams, and contribute to society. Schizophrenia may be an intruder, but it does not define the entirety of a person's life. By unraveling the mysteries surrounding this disorder, we can cultivate a society that embraces compassion, understanding, and support for those living with schizophrenia. Together, let us challenge the stigma, empower individuals, and pave the way towards a brighter future.

    Signs you're a nurse

    https://nurseslabs.com/10-signs-that-youre-a-nurse/ Pretty funny
  7. Hello everyone! Has anyone actually took their CNA renewal paperwork to a facility they picked up shifts at and had a nurse willing to sign their paperwork? I’ve been hesitant to go since it’s been a little bit since I picked up and I don’t know if they would even do it. I have all my reference paperwork from the facilities I picked up shifts at as well but I just wanted to see if anyone has had success doing it yet.
  8. Does anybody know if Nursa uses MRO EXPRESS out of FL for anything related to employing us?

    Nurses' week

I was just coming in here to see if I could find anything acknowledging and Celebrating Nurses' Week. As far as I can tell, there hasnt been anything special...if this is true...I have been mistaken in the past...did i miss it??? not to toot our own horns...but we have been called heros...to have a week set aside and nothing has been awarded, not even a mention is downright sad!!! One of the facilities ordered a meal we chose and was delivered by the Administrator at 2am!!!! She went out of her way to let us know that we are appreciated...not just in words, but also a token of appreciation.....what gives??? I know we have to be making the company plenty of money that there should be a special fund/committee to make this happen. Just sayin' Happy Late Nurses' Week!!! Keep up the great work in a (most of the time) thankless field.
  11. Do you think facilities should assign registry staff to their covid unit?
  12. Hello I’m Teresa and new to this app. Please help me with learning more about the app.
  13. That's what I was told yesterday. They said that it's because Nursa is raising their rates...Are you kidding me?!?!? I have built up a rapport with this facility to where they verify my shift immediately after working it, they notify me that shifts are posted, and I communicate with the management team on a day by day bases to assist in making the facility a better place to work at...everything has been going great. Why fix what was not broken? Your greed to make more money off of my labor has resulted in no more shifts scheduled here and no more money from this facility. Who decides this??? You aren't making enough money from us already???? How do you justify the rise in rates ???? Please fix this...if not, i for one will be forced into becoming core staff...i am outraged!!!
  14. Let us know what you want to know or wish you knew when starting out doing local PRN shifts.
  15. Hello, my name is Kristin and I am new to Nursa.
  16. Have you ever thought about giving NOC's a try? Local facilities need your help filling nocturnal shifts. To help ensure patients near you get the care they need, Nursa will pay you up to 15% more when you fill a NOC shift through the Nursa app. The facts: Typical NOC shifts start at 6PM and run to 6AM Most patients and residents are in bed the majority of the shift, resulting in fewer call lights Time to complete your charting and give the facility a 5-star experience Free up your days and enhance your work-life balance Find a NOC shift near you! Nursa has partnered with Perk, a local Utah brand, to help caffeinate your NOC shift! Use this link to get 10% off your order of Perk Energy. This is an exclusive offer for our Utah clinicians!
  17. Why is Nursa not separating "total earnings" into individual year? I would like to see what was my earnings in 2022 and what I have earned so far in 2023.
  18. I've been on Nursa for about a month now and I'm going to cancel my account. There are too many options in my area that are easy and professional. My issues with this app: filters are never saved, takes 12+ hours to get a response about whether I'm booked for a shift or just never getting a response, no push notifications, shifts listed in random order when you open the app, no name badges, the "total" shift payment listed does not subtract a 30min unpaid lunch break. It doesn't need to be this complicated to find work, no matter how competitive the wages are. App developers, I recommend looking at apps like Clipboard and Teambridge. I'm sure there are other great examples, these are just the ones I use personally.
  19. I thought I remembered seeing that I need three orientation shifts prior to starting?
  20. There is a facility where I am located that posts the majority of shifts in my area. I have been requesting shifts since my initial download of this app. Never been accepted for a shift. Messaged the point of contact repeatedly to figure out what I’m doing wrong. The staffing associate finally responds saying that they were good for the day. So why are shifts being posted that don’t even need to be filled. Then I finally got another response about how to get booked. I was told that I need to come to the facility to get a background check down and fingerprints done that will cost me out of my own pocket. How was this not communicated from weeks ago and how is anyone supposed to know automatically? I was told today that Nursa was unaware of this process. Very frustrating.
  21. Why do ya'll think that so few nurses are men? I recently learned that less than 10% of nurses are male! Knew there weren't very many, but that is super low!
