Hot Topic - What are the best shoes for nursing shifts?
Guest posted a question in General Questions
We all know that nursing shifts are long and tiring. Between running around answering call lights or grabbing meds for patients, we know you do it all. Having good shoes makes all the difference in your shift and we want to know your take on the best nursing shoes out there! Here are some different brands I have used on my shifts that I love! Hokas - It's like walking on clouds! Their shoes provide great arch support and cushion for your feet, giving your knees a break. They are also built to have a lot of milage before any kind of wear and tear, making them the most endurable shoe. (By far my favorite) Crocs - Not only are they a nursing fashion staple but they are extremely comfortable. They don't have any laces that restrict your feet and have the best airflow for a closed toe shoe! Toms Classic Slip on Shoe - Toms is a fantastic combination of comfort and function. It's like wearing a slipper to work! Without a lot of arch support, over time the soles of the shoe will mold to your feet giving you the same feeling of a personalized slipper. They are cute and fashionable that will spice up any kind of scrubs you are wearing. -

Hello everyone, my name is Tania, in las Vegas NV. New to the Nursa Community, I am currently working as an RN and have for the last 10 years. Do have a recently reactivated LPN license that had been expired for over 8 years. Decided to activate it as some partial shifts were available for LPNs in my area and it was perfect for what I was looking for. Happy to be here. Currently waiting on approval of my first few shifts. Does it usually take a while to get approve? How soon/late prior to starting the shift do you get approve for the assignment? Thanks Tania

I've been on Nursa for about a month now and I'm going to cancel my account. There are too many options in my area that are easy and professional. My issues with this app: filters are never saved, takes 12+ hours to get a response about whether I'm booked for a shift or just never getting a response, no push notifications, shifts listed in random order when you open the app, no name badges, the "total" shift payment listed does not subtract a 30min unpaid lunch break. It doesn't need to be this complicated to find work, no matter how competitive the wages are. App developers, I recommend looking at apps like Clipboard and Teambridge. I'm sure there are other great examples, these are just the ones I use personally.

Hi! I'm a new nurse - just graduated in April and still looking for employment. I'm gearing towards a night time position so I can start my LPN-RN bridge program next month. Any tips for a new nurse? Everything is appreciated!!!

Hourly seems to be LOWERED across the board
Adele Ramona Patane posted a question in General Questions
I’ve been w Nursa over 2 years. I loved the competitive hourly pay I used to tell other nurses about it. Now, it’s disheartening to see that Nursa has now incorporated almost same hourly pay across the board for diff licensing. There are no more bonuses now and SOS texts don’t offer incentives like they use to. What happened? I may have to go back to a regular 8-12 hour nursing job. 😭 -
So if “Sara” picks up a shift on Thursday that is for the coming Saturday morning, and I get a SOS text for that same shift Friday night. You gone tell me I’m going to be making the same as “SARA”? This was my first shift picking up on Nursa in over a year! Last time I checked last min shifts got paid more or a bonus! They then turned around and sent a SOS for Sunday morning for a shift that had already started and the pay was THE SAME! 😂 how is Nursa allowing this! I make more money at my regular facility I’m hired at!

I saw a facility I haven't seen very often or they are relatively new. Their facility photo is a photo of the Carnegie Village Retirement Village in Belton, Missouri. Carnegie Nursing Home is a far cry from that 5 star facility. If anything that made me laugh, but it is a bit deceiving.

We are looking at how to best optimize notifications within the app. Let us know if you get too much, just enough or not enough notifications. If not enough, first make sure you go to app.nursa.com and make sure you have transactional notifications enabled. Then let us know what you would like to see more of!

How are you feeling about the new twice-weekly pay feature? We recently went from once-weekly pay to twice-weekly pay, which is a step in the right direction to daily pay. Let us know and leave your comments on our Daily Pay Idea Discussion.

At the end of every shift, we get asked to rate and comments on the facility just worked at. Where do our rating and comments go? I would love to see what the facilities get rated from other Nursa workers. Just like support had told me, we get rated but we're unable to see our rating from facilities just yet.
