Cancelled Shifts

Ashley1977

Question

I can on here to say that after working for Nursa for a year things have gone downhill with them. I get “accepted” for a NOC shift and don’t look at other options because I’ve been “accepted “ yet, hours before my shift I am cancelled! This is happening 100% of the time! These facilities are making me a back up plan obviously and Nursa needs to step up and put an end to this game! After being cancelled so many times from a facility I decided to cancel my shifts with them and then Nursa dings me for it and put a hold on my account. This isn’t right. I’ll be looking at other companies where the facility is held accountable and not hitting me with being “irresponsible.”

I feel like if WE get canceled 3 times in 1 month, then nursa should pay us for a shift. I think since we are held accountable and can cancel 3 times in a month before there are consequences, then this would be completely fair.

My first two approved shifts were at the same facility starting at 6am. I even went to the facility the day before to prep a bit. I called the scheduler when no one knew I was coming the next day. She said they'd send me a password and login by email. They didn't. The first shift was cancelled 2 hours before. The second was cancelled 5 hours before. The only explanation was, "sorry." A nurse sure isn't allowed to behave that way.

@Ashley1977 @Theresa Jacobs and @danah thank you for sharing! If you wouldn't mind, either sharing here or in a DM to myself the names of these facilities and locations. I know last minute cancellations can be very frustrating when you are counting on the work. We want to encourage dependable behavior by facilities. Thank you for sharing!

I experienced this today, I was in my car driving and cancelled within an hour of the shift. so frustrating.
