What makes nurses stay in their jobs for a long time?

Crystal Baker Shoaie

Question

Although we all know that nursing has a lot of turnover, some nurses stay with the same facility or system for decades.

What is it that makes these nurses stick with their jobs for so many years? Is it the sense of fulfillment born of a deep commitment to caring for those who are sick or weak, making a difference for people? Or maybe some have found a great work environment where they truly feel they belong? What do you think?
