I want to hear your stories. Have you ever experienced violence or aggression from a patient in a long-term care (LTC) setting? How did you handle the situation, and what strategies do you think can help improve safety for staff in these environments?

I saw violence towards nurses and doctors, but more often to nurses. Most people respect physicians and then take it all out on the nurses. I never saw somebody hitting a nurse, though.

 

I remember working in a home and avoiding all males because they would say nasty things to anyone! 🫣
