ICU Nurses French Braid?
My mom had an instance last summer where she went into Vtach, had to be intubated and put on a vent, and spent quite the stint in the ICU. The nice nurse there braided my mom's hair for her and I thought it was so sweet (she thought it looked "doofy" in her words-which frankly I was grateful to hear her say anything at that time lol 😉). It couldn't have taken that long but it made a big difference for me and my sister and dad. Its the little things... is this common amongst ICU nurses? I've heard something about it. Or other nurses and CNAs, I am curious what you do, big or small, to make a difference to a worn down family member or patient?

Is it time for me to walk away from a full-time nursing job?

Your hospital is understaffed, taking advantage of nurses, and making no plans to change the situation. You feel an overwhelming need for something to change because what you’re doing doesn’t feel sustaina…

trying to figure out why there isn't a med aide category
hello i believe there would be and increase in the amount of job opportunities if there was a med aide position available for example it the med aide position is not filled by a med aide a lvn or rn can request the same position just have to accept they pay posted for the med aide. and also if and lvn or rn or med aide even request a cna position at cna pay of course we should be allowed to request it only because our credentials already include that of a cna or med aide. if you understand what im saying so like under an LVN profile it should be able to include med aide, cna and care giver. alot of facilities need med aides.

What are your Big Five most dominant personality traits? Is there one trait all good nurses have?
According to the Big Five Model, personality can be narrowed down to five main factors: extroversion, agreeableness, openness, conscientiousness, and neuroticism. Extroversion This factor reflects the degree to which people interact with others and their levels of comfort and assertiveness in these situations. Extroverted people are sociable and enjoy being the center of attention. Furthermore, they are energized by social interaction. At the other end of the spectrum, people with low extroversion prefer to be alone and are even tired by social interaction. They are more reserved and reflective and certainly do not like being the center of attention. Agreeablene…

Accountability
I have been working with some CNAs that are neglectful/don’t care about their work. It’s very sad to see and have to point out. There needs to be a way we can report these aides so they can be talked to or trained or banned even. Can we make this possible please?

Weird but Hilarious
Years ago I was in a room with the Doctor and a patient. As the Doctor was going over some test results. The patient abruptly interrupts the Doctor and insist that she no longer has Diabetes. The patient stated that was the reason I agreed with my last Doctor which was to cut off the leg that had the Diabetes. Now, it's all gone! No more Diabetes...... Hmmm......Interesting :/
