Pennsylvania
I've observed that many states participate in Nursa. Why isn't Pennsylvania among them? Given the staffing challenges many facilities face, Nursa's support could be invaluable.

Being Canceled
I drove two hours to a shift tonight only to find out that the facility had “forgotten” to cancel me. I contacted Nursa and the only compensation they offer is $75?! I know it’s not Nursa’s fault but they should offer more protection for their nurses in these situations. $75 is nothing compared to what I thought I would be making tonight. Not only that but now the other jobs I could have requested have been filled. I know that if we no show or late cancel a shift there are repercussions but what about the facility? What happens to them for completely wasting my time?

Story Time!
Have you ever experienced a bedside nursing situation that you wish hadn't occurred for the simple reason that it made you appear foolish? Please do share. One night, I was working on the LTC unit at a facility where I frequently picked up shifts, so I had developed a good rapport with the residents and the staff. I check on a resident who had their call light on. He was looking for Robert, his CNA, to change his colostomy bag. Although I offered to do it, he declined. It was quite a relief for me, but not for the reason one might expect. As of that point in my career, I did not even remember having a patient with a colostomy, and the last time I provided care for a colos…

Shift Accepted
I just signed up with Nursa and have requested plenty of shifts. My question is where will I see the notification that a shift has been accepted? There's a facility that was looking for people but I never got accepted and there post is still up requesting right now. So does that mean it was filled and I'm just not made aware?

Licensure in individual states
Hey! I would like input on what states are the easiest to obtain licensure when you have a DUI on your record. I have been sober 5 years now, and travel nursing has always been a dream job for me. (I am not eligible for a compact license, but I CAN apply to states individually!) Does anyone have experience with this or can put me in touch with a resource?!

Charting
Hi everyone! Do you know of an online resource to use that has a "crash course" in different EHR tutorials? The only one I really know is PCC and I am hearing alot about Cerner, Meditech, etc. Help! I want to learn in advance so that I am not completely lost!

Shift report
I finished a shift yesterday and downloaded my shift report. The download consisted of all my credentials. What am I supposed to do with the download now? There's no instructions on what to do with it. And there's a glitch that happens after downloading that when I reopen my app it goes straight to the download shift report link again (pretty frustrating).

Frozen Acct
I wanted to schedule a few shifts throughout July. Now I can't because my account is frozen. All I did was cancel the requested shifts. The other scheduled shifts weren't canceled. I am starting a new job in August and was hoping to work a few shifts beforehand. Is it possible that the freeze can be removed if we didn't cancel a scheduled shift? Has anyone had their account unfrozen before the 14 days? Thanks

Shift requests
Hello, I live in Las Vegas, NV and normally there are only shifts listed on here for one facility for RN. From the listings it would appear they are in dire need just about every day for night or day nurse. However, I have selected that I can work a shift probably 10 times or more and I have NEVER gotten any response back from them. Has anyone else experienced this? I've been an RN now for 8 yrs and my total nurse experience has been 10 yrs. I have just been curious as to how a facility always has this "need" and yet they never contact you to pick up a shift.

Great app but glitchy
Great app. Love how I can look at available shifts and pay and request for a shift from my phone. The only issue I have is that it's very glitchy. I set my preferences and it still gives me facilities that are in another state. Also, would be great to add more acute care facilities in Colorado.

Schedule 1 hr prior to shift
Usually I check my phone throughout the night to see if I am scheduled for a shift. This time I was not schedule, I slept, woke at 9am and found out I was scheduled 1 hr prior to shift start. And I was placed on a block acct after contacting the facility informing them that I did not get a notification and that i could be there in 30mins. Usually I don't belly ache about things, but this angered me. Due to the fact that there should be a time when it is allow to schedule prior to the beginning of a shift. Just like when facilities wants a 2 hr notice of cancelations. Why not return the courtesy? But by day 4 of this info my acct will be reviewed with nursa supervisors and…

The Tip Jar
When going into facilities act as if you are an actual employee not just passing thru. Assess your patients take care of there needs not put them off. We maybe be there for the hours but there are actual people there who will actually be depending on our care for them. Be attentive and no patient needs you more the the one in front of you. Then move on too the next. Remember the opportunity is a two way street the facility needs us and we need the hrs. Charting is how the make their money and able to call staff in. So chart your skill charting creating pay and more hours for Agency to work
