Help me understand
I was at a Concert Friday night at around 10:30 I was scheduled for a shift that started in 2hrs! Mind you I had requested this shift Friday morning. I worked the shift a full 8hrs the facility reported I worked 2hrs so Nursa said I owed money back. The next shift I worked I was only paid $5!!!! They took my money because the facility made a mistake! Nursa notified me since it is a holiday I will not have the issue fixed until Tuesday!!!! So today I go work for this facility AGAIN! Why? Because Nursa ALLOWED them to schedule me a shift at 3:30am that began at 4pm. I was scheduled a shift while sleeping for a shift I had that started at 6am at a different facility. So I h…

Hot Topic - What are the best shoes for nursing shifts?
We all know that nursing shifts are long and tiring. Between running around answering call lights or grabbing meds for patients, we know you do it all. Having good shoes makes all the difference in your shift and we want to know your take on the best nursing shoes out there! Here are some different brands I have used on my shifts that I love! Hokas - It's like walking on clouds! Their shoes provide great arch support and cushion for your feet, giving your knees a break. They are also built to have a lot of milage before any kind of wear and tear, making them the most endurable shoe. (By far my favorite) Crocs - Not only are they a nursing fashion staple …

Unfreeze account
I find it very difficult and disheartening that a facility would go behind my back and be dishonest about me not working a shift. When. I worked a double for them on the 3rd floor which is the long term care units that was super short that day it was only me and another CNA on the floor that night back in May on the 12 of May at that at a facility called avatars lake Zurich. I had 46 residents that night all super heavy with no clean laundry no nothing and i completed the shift both shift for what I had and I was told August 6 is when I found out my account was frozen due to a no call no show but I was fully paid out.. why hasn’t any one reached out to me and asked me for…

SOS shifts
So if “Sara” picks up a shift on Thursday that is for the coming Saturday morning, and I get a SOS text for that same shift Friday night. You gone tell me I’m going to be making the same as “SARA”? This was my first shift picking up on Nursa in over a year! Last time I checked last min shifts got paid more or a bonus! They then turned around and sent a SOS for Sunday morning for a shift that had already started and the pay was THE SAME! 😂 how is Nursa allowing this! I make more money at my regular facility I’m hired at!

Your behavior defines who you are. In psychology, for certain behaviors to develop, these are triggered by a stimulus – the environment where we spend most of our time. As a nurse, do you get less emotional with family?
Does working as a nurse make you less emotional about family members being ill or dying? There is a nurse in my family, and he just completely freezes when his kids are ill; one of the kids got into an accident, and he couldn't react (he is an ER nurse, so he sees a lot of accidents all of the time). He told us he just couldn't make sense of the situation when it was his kid. Thankfully, the other kids called their mom, and they got into an ambulance on time. How is it for you? Do you get more emotional with family or less emotional?

Cancelled Shifts
I can on here to say that after working for Nursa for a year things have gone downhill with them. I get “accepted” for a NOC shift and don’t look at other options because I’ve been “accepted “ yet, hours before my shift I am cancelled! This is happening 100% of the time! These facilities are making me a back up plan obviously and Nursa needs to step up and put an end to this game! After being cancelled so many times from a facility I decided to cancel my shifts with them and then Nursa dings me for it and put a hold on my account. This isn’t right. I’ll be looking at other companies where the facility is held accountable and not hitting me with being “irresponsible.”

Thoughts on the noncompete ban for healthcare workers?
It's about time that the noncompete ban legislation came out. It only seems right that nurses and healthcare workers should have the ability to work where they choose to and that there should not be "ownership" over their license. I for one am glad to see the ban on noncompetes. What are your thoughts?
