When facilities try to recruit you!
I truly love working agency, and courious - What is your response when a facility's HR or even D.O.N tries to recruit and offer you a job or tries to have you fill out an application? I am very new to TX, so I kind of have a quick easy response as "I'm new to TX I'm not quite settled in just yet, I really like working agency, with the flexibility also it gives me opportunity to see how facilities are ran, how the team works together and how well the residents are truly being taken care of by the facility as a whole. Shift Notification issues in the app/site
After checking the site for shifts, if I fail to find something I can request, I keep my eyes on the "notifications" to see what new needs come along. Unfortunately, the way they are currently set up they don't show what shift (day, evening, night/NOC) in the notification itself, meaning I have to look at them all just to see if the time works for me or not. Mostly not. It can also get flooded with notifications if I'm away for a while. (I ran errands earlier for 1 hour and there were 50 in there when I got back, 49 for the same facility, and 1 for a separate facility!) And while I have a "mark all as read" option, there isn't an option to "clear" them all. And if I don't…

Be able to choose NOT to list certain facilities
Sometimes, when a facility dumps ALL their needs for the month, it gets so annoying to have to scroll past those to find other facilities. It would be nice to be able to sort of "blacklist" a facility so your not bothered with all that.

Stuff you MUST know
Ive been working agency most of my 25 year career as a lpn and a cna prior to that. I have come to know there are a handful of MUST knows to be successful as visiting staff... 1. where is the bathroom 2. what are the codes for: A. Getting out the door B. Getting back in the door C. Dirty utility room D. Central supply 3. the address where you are (if calling 911, they always ask...even though Im sure they can trace the call) As a nurse, I will start my medpass in the narcotic book. I will flag all the scheduled pain pills and look over the prn...when was the last time they got one and when can they have it nex…

Name badges
I feel it is imperative that Nursa begin to send us name badges as our patients have the right to know our name and position. I have tried ordering one, but the company I was using wanted authorization from Nursa to use the logo, which is understandable.

Do I have to take a break? What if the shift is too busy?
We don't always have the opportunity to take a break during busy shifts. We get it! However, Nursa will defer to the facility regarding break requirements in their building. You are always encouraged to ask if you're required to take a break and, of course, communicate with the staff on shift so that you take it at the right time. Don't take your break right at peak work flow times or leave early thinking it's a "break." Be sure to take the time needed to eat, rest, and recuperate before you jump in and finish your shift strong!! You got this healthcare hero! 🦸♀️

Transparency w/ Pay Days & Pay Periods
Hi there, When NURSA claims to pay clinicians out every Friday, this is extremely misleading. This app promotes an idea that we can pick up shifts & also be paid for them within the same week. Now I’m hearing from other clinicians who have picked up shifts, that they are always paid the FOLLOWING Friday. This ultimately means that we are paid every Friday on the sole condition that we pick up NURSA shifts EVERY week. This is very misleading & extremely dishonest communication. This app needs to be transparent about pay days/times/periods, especially during recession like times that we are all currently experiencing. Many of us clinicians a…

What's the funniest/craziest thing you've done while sleep deprived from taking too many shifts?
I was riding in the backseat completely sleep deprived and I asked a question to my father in law who was driving and that's the last thing I remember.... I fell asleep immediately after asking it and woke up to my wife and father in law laughing hysterically at me. It was a two second answer to my question and then it was just crickets from me.

Found a new problem with being banned/DNR
Apparently the app has the ban button positioned where the person taking the shift could be selected instead of the one that didn't show up. Supposedly Nursa is straightening out the ban by calling the customer, but this is a serious flaw. I will not be taking any more shifts when they are urgent or past the start time until this is fixed. The risk is too great that I will get banned from another facility for just "helping out." I am making this statement based on what I am told by the representatives.

How many are too many?
I often work by myself and just curious about other cna’s. How many residents are you comfortable working with? And how many do you think is too many alone? Include which shift.

What I want to see for NURSA
Hello everyone and to all NURSA team! I have been with this company for 1 year and I love it! There are some things that I would like to see with NURSA, and those are: Increase pay/bonuses for clinicians who have higher ratings with many shifts or facilities worked. The shifts posted on app should be in chronological order (like from today's date to beyond), this makes a lot easier to keep track of shifts. We used to have a filter that tells clinician of which facilities pays most, what happened to that? lol More coverage throughout states from West to East Coast. Travel contracts with an option to work as 1099? (I kn…

NURSA slow job posting notifications
Hi NURSA Team! Not sure why there were not so many job postings daily for CNA's, LPN's and RN's, and this happened since Thurs. This does not usually happen, specially in Salt Lake area (where you always have new job posting everyday). Can someone please tell us what is happening with the app? Thanks, R

Who's in Denver? 📣
Hi all! We are a few Nursa CNAs in the Denver metro area. Over the last year I've met other great CNAs with agencies that I've enjoyed working with. We'd love to meet you on/off the shifts, so we can work together more smoothly. I'm Imana and I work Nursa with my daughter and friends. Please introduce yourself, too.

New Low Rates
Why are the shift rates this low? Accepting low rates sets the standards for the pay we deserve. These assignments are tough and we are often just thrown into the shift.

Canceling shifts
Large facility in my area that is ran by a religious organization recently became a customer. I decided to book multiple shifts. I showed up for the first shift and I was double booked with another agency. They decided to keep me for that shift. The second shift they told me in person that they no longer want the shift. I guess I didn't realize its totally up to them to cancel shifts. Why is that? After calling support on two different days I decided to cancel all my shifts for the week and take the 2 week ban since there was no way to fix the issue. Maybe its just me, but I hate driving across town or maybe really far and being sent home even if I am getting what…

Double booking and after hours
I would like to being able to pick up 16 hour shifts at two different facilities for the same day. I've experienced this twice now working with nursa. I am unable to request through the app because the start and end time are the same. So I've had to have the facilities call nursa and put it in manually. I try to work 16 hours day and it doesn't always work out at the same facility due to thier needs, so I would see another facility needs help at the time my shift ends and I have to call the facility directly to ask if I can work, since I can't put a request in. #2 After hours when you call they ask if this is an emergency press #. When you do, it brings you back t…

LVN
Hello, can you please bring the mileage option back on the app please? The app continues to show me shifts 8 hours away from me. Even after putting in my state, it still shows places that are in other states like 15-22 hours away from me, then I have to search through pages to find my own cities shifts.

ICU Nurses French Braid?
My mom had an instance last summer where she went into Vtach, had to be intubated and put on a vent, and spent quite the stint in the ICU. The nice nurse there braided my mom's hair for her and I thought it was so sweet (she thought it looked "doofy" in her words-which frankly I was grateful to hear her say anything at that time lol 😉). It couldn't have taken that long but it made a big difference for me and my sister and dad. Its the little things... is this common amongst ICU nurses? I've heard something about it. Or other nurses and CNAs, I am curious what you do, big or small, to make a difference to a worn down family member or patient?
